Ravelli Hotel & Lodges Luxury Spa

For the 4-star Hotel Ravelli in Trentino, OLENA Innenarchitektur developed a holistic renovation concept for the restaurant area. The goal of the project was to transform the existing space into a modern, stylish, and at the same time warm atmosphere that reinterprets the hotel’s alpine character.

At the heart of the design is the harmonious interplay of natural materials, precise detailing and contemporary design. Dark wood surfaces create an elegant contrast to the warm oak finishes and, together with the indirect lighting, create a calm, high-quality spatial atmosphere. Custom-designed wall panelling and bespoke built-in furniture give the restaurant a distinctive identity.

Generous seating alcoves with high backrests create privacy while also improving room acoustics, ensuring comfort and a pleasant atmosphere, while open sightlines make the space feel expansive. Open areas allow flexible use and ensure that, despite its size, the restaurant feels calm and harmonious.

A special design feature is the traditional timber beams, which were deliberately retained and combined with modern lighting installations. This creates an exciting dialogue between regional culture and contemporary interior architecture.

For this project, a multi-level lighting concept was developed that supports both architecture and atmosphere. The linear LED lighting systems emphasise the clear geometry of the space and set architectural accents without losing the warm ambience. The concept is complemented by decorative pendant lights above the tables, creating a warm and pleasant lighting mood.

The brass details extend throughout the entire design, providing a noble, timeless touch. The bar’s work surfaces and back panels are crafted from light marble, creating an elegant contrast to the dark wood.

The most important task, however, was not only to create a timeless atmosphere and a coherent design, but also to expand the bar, provide more workspace for staff, and create additional seating for guests. Furthermore, storage space was to be optimized, and the organization of bar items improved.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner service, events or cleaning tasks – quickly and conveniently called up.

The separate lighting circuits enable individual control of the decorative lighting, general lighting, as well as service and cleaning lighting. Each lighting group can be dimmed, switched or completely turned off independently. This allows the lighting mood to be optimally adapted at any time to the respective requirements and times of day.

By combining different light sources, a balanced, high-quality atmosphere is created both during the day and in the evening.

A key focus of the planning was optimising the spatial structure. Newly designed seating areas created clear zoning that takes guests’ different needs into account.

A key objective of the planning was to develop a flexible restaurant concept that meets the varying requirements of hotel operations. Thanks to its well-considered zoning, the newly designed restaurant area can be used in a variety of ways. Intimate seating areas offer privacy for couples and families, while larger table groups can easily be arranged for tour groups or events. This keeps the restaurant clear, welcoming and pleasantly calm despite its size.

The bespoke arrangement of the furniture supports efficient service operations while also offering a high level of seating comfort. Every detail was coordinated: from the custom-built furniture to the table proportions and the circulation routes for service staff. Generous circulation routes enable efficient service operations and at the same time ensure that guests can move freely and comfortably through the space.

All fixed installations were individually planned and manufactured specifically for the hotel.

This bespoke planning gives the restaurant a distinctive character and a high level of design quality.

The result is a restaurant that brings design, functionality and alpine authenticity into harmony: a place where hotel guests feel equally at home from breakfast through to dinner, and which reflects the identity of Hotel Ravelli in a modern way.

A central design principle of this project is the consistent repetition of a dynamic design language that runs like a common thread through the entire restaurant area. Diagonal lines recur in the wall panelling, room dividers and bespoke built-ins, giving the space a harmonious, flowing effect. They structure the room, define different areas for guests to linger, and at the same time provide privacy without restricting the restaurant’s sense of spaciousness.

With this recurring design language, OLENA Innenarchitektur picks up on the architectural identity of Hotel Ravelli and reinterprets it. Existing design elements of the hotel were analysed and further developed as the basis for a cohesive interior concept. In this way, the restaurant integrates harmoniously into the property’s brand identity and becomes an integral part of the overall hotel architecture.

The dynamic lines create an exciting contrast to the clear, symmetrical spatial structure. This balanced interplay of movement and order gives the interior its distinctive design tension while also creating a calm, elegant atmosphere.

The design elements developed specifically by OLENA Innenarchitektur shape the restaurant’s appearance and create an interior design with a high recognition value. The recurring design language brings architecture, furniture design and interior fit-out together into a coherent overall concept that reflects the hotel’s identity in a contemporary way and offers guests a unique spatial experience.
